In the past 6 weeks I had 2 family members pass away. It was very sad because they were only 47 and 51 years old respectively. One had cancer in remission which flared up suddenly again; then she was gone in a matter of days. The other had a stroke suddenly with no warning at all. Both deaths were a source of great loss and sadness for the family.
When a funeral comes together, it comes together very quickly. You notify as many family members as you can and get as many of them to pay their respects as possible. Half of the people there you haven't seen for years. Many have come to pay respects to someone they barely know. It seems families only come together for weddings and funerals and then go about their lives. You find out things about the deceased at their funeral that you never ever knew about them, because they were not a part of your life when they were alive.
Funerals are about celebrating someone's life but you don't have to wait till they are in a box. Appreciating people while they live is at least as important. The last lesson of those who are taken too quickly and too young is that life is far too short. Seize the day because today will never come again. We just do not have time for pride and pettiness.
If there is someone you haven't seen for a long time, make the call. Send the email. Don't put it off. Life is full of missed opportunities and tomorrow may be too late.

Congratulations to the Graduates and their Parents
We are so proud of you. All of those years of hard work and dedication have finally paid off! Each day as people come in to order their corsages and boutonnieres for their graduations we see the pride in their smiling faces and share in the joy of their achievement. We see their happiness at having succeeded and their fear and exhilaration of what the future will hold, we listen to their future plans and goals.

Sympathy Arrangements - You will always remember them.
There comes a time in our lives when someone we love passes on and life leads us to face many obstacles. One of these is making the final arrangements and the execution of the will. At this time, if you are an executor of the will, in many cases the flower tributes can be billed directly to the estate, saving the executor some expense. At Kings Florist, in many cases we are able to do this. *call for details* at 1-800-563-3637. or visit our website at http://www.winnipegflorist.info/

You did it. You finished! It was a long road but you got it done and we are so proud. Now that one avenue has closed and another is opened up your future is yours to create.
The gang at Kings Florist want to wish you all the best wherever the winds may take you.
Mom's and Dads, Grandparents aunts and uncles Rejoice! - Her star is on the rise!
Your gift acknowledges her performance and shows her you are behind her, cheering her on whichever way her ship will sail.
A well dressed grad needs to have a corsage for her and a boutonniere for her escort.
Congrats and all the best for a wonderful future from Kings Florist

June is all about Dad's and Grads
FATHER'S DAY IS JUNE 20, 2010!
Dad who always listens and who always pays. It is only fitting that we have a special day to honor the guy who brought me into this world and showed me what to do with it. He has been forgotten in the grand scheme of life. Except when someone is broke, or needs advice or needs something fixed or needs some heavy lifting done, Dad kind of gets swept into the background.
Mom has her big day. We get her flowers, we take her out to dinner, we buy her jewelry and perfume. So let's take a moment and reflect about all the great deeds performed by Dear Old Dad:
He taught you how to ride a bike
He helped you with your math.
He walked you down the aisle.
He thought you were the most beautiful daughter ever.
He showed you how to throw a curve ball.
He watched the hockey game with you.
He was always looking out for you.
He listened to your plans hopes and dreams, and sometimes gave good advice.
He fixed your car.
He paid for your car.
He is your best friend.
So in the confusion of trying to find the right gift, remember all the great things that he has done, that is all part of the Dad job description. For someone has always been the provider for his children, it will be a treat to be the receiver of one of these attractive nutritions and delicious food baskets. After all, the way to Dad's heart has always been through his stomach.
